The Diamondbacks became the first team to win nine games as they wrapped up their series with the Rockies. They actually got off to a bad start on Friday and lost their second game in a row in a rough start by Brandon Webb. He gave up five runs on eight hits and four walks with two strikeouts in seven innings of work. Eric Byrnes drove in all three Arizona runs with a homerun and a single in the 6-3 loss.
The team got back on track Saturday with a come from behind 5-4 win. Miguel Montero hit a solo homerun to tie it and then Orlando Hudson hit a sac. fly for the game winner. Tony Clark also had a nice game with a single and two RBIs. Livan Hernandez threw six solid innings and Brandon Lyon picked up the win while Jose Valverde picked up the save.
The Diamondbacks won the rubber game yesterday. Tony Clark had another big game with two homeruns and three RBIs. Orlando Hudson had two hits and a run in the 6-4 win. Doug Davis picked up the win despite a mediocre outing. He gave up four runs on nine hits.
Next up is a two game series against the Dodgers, who sit just a half game back of Arizona. Edgar Gonzalez gets the start tonight.
