Baseball America put out their list of the Diamondbacks top ten prospects and at the top of the list is right hander Jarrod Parker. The D-Backs first round pick in 2007, and he missed all of 2010 after Tommy John surgery. Parker has the distinction of being the Diamondbacks top prospect for the past three years so it’ll be interesting to see if he finally lives up to the hype.
Number two is Tyler Skaggs. He came over to Arizona in the Dan Haren trade and he had a nice season at Low A as a nineteen year old. High A is in his future and if he can put together another nice season, we could see him in a Diamonbacks uniform sometime in 2013.
Number three is third baseman Matt Davidson. A nice power hitter, Davidson got it done at Low-A before struggling at High-A as a 19 year old. He’ll probably return to High-A to start 2011. Chris Owings (shortstop, still a couple of years away) and Marc Krauss (outfielder, a couple of years away) round out the top five.
